City of Angels
Music by Cy
Coleman; Lyrics by David Zippel; Book/Libretto by:
Larry Gelbart
Winner of 6 Tony’s including Best Musical. Only our own Los Angeles could inspire this
season opener. Tough guys and shady
dames populate this musical Noir flash back to hot-jive/cool jazz, post-war
LA. From the pen of award-winning writer
Larry Gelbart (M*A*S*H) comes the story of a clever novelist who finds he’s no
match for Hollywood as he struggles to turn his hard-boiled detective novel
into a movie. His Technicolor
adventures, and those of his black-and-white P. I. hero, Stone, unfold to the
harmonies of the fabulous 40’s. Full of
sassy dialog and terrific music, if you ever miss cutting a rug to Tommy
Dorsey, or if you just love LA; this show is a MUST SEE!

It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio
Play
Adapted
by Phillip Grecian from the film by Frances Frank Capra.
Just in time to usher in the holidays, the Frank Capra classic arrives
at WCT (or should we say K-W-C-T?) as a full-on radio broadcast. We’ll turn our theatre into a radio studio,
complete with live sound-effects, local commercials and enough nostalgia to
stuff a turkey. Join us for an evening
of entertainment the way George Bailey and family enjoyed it. We’ll warm your hearts as the nights grow
cold!
Don’t miss a Wonderful Show!

Almost, Maine
Written by John Cariani
The perfect Valentine comes postmarked from the fictional town of
Almost, Maine, a tiny place where anything can (and does) happen as the
Northern Lights play in the sky. A
talented ensemble will take patrons on a whirlwind trip through town,
eavesdropping on a dozen conversations as couples meet, by chance or design,
and try to find that moment when love “clicks.”
You are bound to see at least a few loves you know, and maybe a few you
lost, in this romantic anthology.
“No mistake, ‘Almost, Maine’ is conspicuously engineered to be a crowd
pleaser”--

June 4, 5, 11, 12,
13, 18 & 19
Written by John Bishop
The 1939 show was canceled on account of
DEATH! If the actors and producers can’t
find the killer before he strikes again, the 1940 show may have the same
fate! The ingénue, the comedian, the
song-and-dance man, the spy, the…. SPY?! Well it IS 1940, and this show has
everything, including the ritzy house with sliding panels and hot-and-cold
running servants. Get out your
magnifying glass and see if you can solve the mystery before you die laughing!
